Toby Gritten has an impressive pedigree, having trained under Chris Wicks at Bells Diner before putting Clifton's Albion on the food map, he is now resident in the old Victorian pumping station on the edge of the floating harbour. Since taking over at the Pumphouse Toby has earned rave reviews for his indulgent modern British menus.
Toby's approach to cooking encompasses the best of British food – old and new. 'Although I try to stick to British culinary tradition, it's hard to shrug off influence from our continental counterparts' and this balance is evident in his cooking
Toby's aim is to use all the West Country has to offer promoting fresh seasonal produce sourced locally.
